The short answer

On turn-up prices, the cheapest official car park for a week is Park & Ride, at £271.20. Park & Ride prices are the same at every terminal; at Terminal 4, Zone A has the same day rates and is free for the first 2 hours. Heathrow says its online prices are cheaper than turning up on the day, but it publishes no percentage saving against its gate prices. Its only percentages are member discounts: 5% off an official parking booking with its free My Heathrow membership, or 10% with Heathrow Rewards Premium, for bookings made online by 1 February 2027, terms and conditions apply. For short visits, Terminal Parking is next to Terminals 2, 3 and 5, connected by covered walkways, at £98 for the first 24 hours. Only collecting someone? Park & Ride is free for up to 29 minutes, with a free shuttle bus to the terminal, and at Terminal 4, Zone A of the Park & Ride car park is free for up to 2 hours.

Every turn-up price on this page is the airport's own published price, checked on its website on 17 Oct 2026. Weekly totals are our sums from those prices. Pre-booked and partner prices change often, so we link to them live rather than quote them. How we check.

Heathrow's official parking, product by product

Heathrow says all 11 of its official car parks are run by Heathrow. Each product's price is the same at every terminal that has it, so they are grouped here by product; each name links to Heathrow's page. Priority Park & Ride for Terminals 2 & 3 and the Terminal 4 multi-storey are closed.

Booking ahead: Heathrow says its online prices are cheaper than turning up on the day, but it publishes no percentage saving against its gate prices. Its only percentages are member discounts: 5% off an official parking booking with its free My Heathrow membership, or 10% with Heathrow Rewards Premium, for bookings made online by 1 February 2027, terms and conditions apply. Book on the airport's own site, or compare the independent car parks below. Heathrow says official parking can be booked up to a year ahead and cancelled free up to two hours before your booked arrival time; amending a booking can bring extra charges or refunds. If you stay beyond your booking, you pay the daily rate for the extra time. Park & Ride can be pre-booked for stays over 24 hours; Terminal Parking for stays over nine hours, its own page says, although the pick-up page says under 24 hours can't be pre-booked.

A lift costs least in charges, but it means two return trips to the airport for whoever drives you. If you're driving yourself, don't just turn up at the barrier: even the cheapest official car park costs £271.20 a week that way. The London Heathrow drop-off guide has the full rules for the terminal drop-off zones, and park or drop off at Heathrow compares the two by trip length. At Terminal 4, which has no Terminal Parking, collecting from Priority Pick-Up costs £7 for up to 10 minutes, so a lift both ways is £14, or £21 if the pick-up takes 11 to 29 minutes. Collecting from Zone A of the Park & Ride car park, free for up to 2 hours, brings it down to the £7 drop-off. We leave three products out of the turn-up rows. Heathrow publishes drive-up prices for Meet & Greet, £413.60 for a week by our sum, but strongly recommends booking it ahead and gives two different one-day figures (£143.40 in its table, from £138.60 in its text). For Priority Park & Ride and Pod Parking it gives only a one-day price, £47.90 and £59.60.

Independent car parks near London Heathrow Airport

Holiday Extras and Airparks mainly sell independent park & ride and meet & greet at Heathrow, from operators such as Purple Parking, Maple Parking and MBW. Holiday Extras also lists Heathrow's official Meet & Greet, and Airparks says Heathrow's Short Stay car park can't be booked through it. Holiday Extras lists Maple Parking Express Park & Ride T5 with a 4 minute transfer and Purple Parking Park and Ride Plus T5 with 15 to 18 minutes, for example. YourParkingSpace is different: it is a marketplace for parking spaces, driveways and garages across the UK, and its Heathrow listings include spaces at hotels, a pub and a garden centre. Their prices change often, so compare them live.

Terminal drop-off zonesNo pick-ups or waiting allowed

Heathrow doesn't allow pick-ups or waiting in the terminal drop-off zones, and unattended cars may be towed. At Terminals 2, 3 and 5, meet your passenger in Terminal Parking, or wait free in Park & Ride and let them take the free shuttle out to you. At Terminal 4, Heathrow calls Zone A of the Park & Ride car park the best option for meeting people in the terminal: the first 2 hours are free, with a shuttle every 5 minutes. The Priority Pick-Up area, reached by following Salisbury Road, is right outside the terminal but you can't leave the car unattended there, and charges rise to £25 for each extra hour, up to £200 a day. Terminal Parking and Park & Ride use a ticket and pay machines (or at the exit barriers in Terminal Parking). Terminal 4 Priority Pick-Up has no on-site payment: pay online or by automated phone, by card, by midnight the day after your visit, or an £80 Parking Charge follows, reduced to £40 if paid within 14 days. Blue Badge discounts don't apply there.

Early flight?

Hotel and parking the night before

Holiday Extras and Airparks both sell hotel-and-parking packages at Heathrow, and Heathrow sells its own through its website. Heathrow's packages pair a hotel night with its Park & Ride or Meet & Greet parking: you leave the car at the hotel overnight and drive to the car park on the day you fly, and Heathrow says all its hotels are within 15 minutes of the Park & Ride car parks. Holiday Extras describes three kinds: parking at the hotel with a taxi or hotel transfer to the airport, meet and greet, and parking at a nearby airport car park. Check which kind yours is before you book.

Hand over the keys

Meet & greet and valet

The airport's own Valet Parking is booked ahead only: at Terminals 2, 3 and 5 you leave the car in a dedicated section of the departures forecourt, with a 100% discount on the Terminal Drop-Off Charge, and collect it from that terminal's Terminal Parking car park. Heathrow's own Meet & Greet starts instead at a reception inside the Terminal Parking car park, where you hand over your keys; Heathrow says it is not available at Terminal 4 while the multi-storey there is closed. Holiday Extras lists Heathrow's official Meet & Greet alongside independent services from MBW, Maple Parking, Purple Parking and Meteor, and says it doesn't sell Heathrow Valet Parking; Airparks lists independent meet and greet. Heathrow's own Meet & Greet and Valet pages still list Terminal 4, and Holiday Extras still shows the official service there, but Heathrow's Terminal 4 page says Park & Ride is the only official parking product on offer at Terminal 4, so check the terminal before you book.

Blue Badge and accessible parking

In the Park & Ride car parks, including Terminal 4 Zone A, the first 2 hours are free for UK and EEA Blue Badge holders: for a drop-off, use the call point on entry and give your badge number and registration, then the call point on exit; for a pick-up, use the call point on exit. Every car park has Blue Badge bays, with help points nearby to arrange free assistance, and Terminal 4 Zone A has an Assisted Services Hub. At the terminal drop-off zones, Blue Badge holders can get a 100% discount on the £7 charge in any vehicle carrying them, a taxi included, even if they don't drive: a Blue Badge Account must be applied for at least 7 days before your next visit, and approval can take up to five days. Blue Badge discounts don't apply at Terminal 4 Priority Pick-Up, and the Blue Badge scheme doesn't operate on the roads around Heathrow. See how London Heathrow compares with other airports in the Blue Badge guide.

Terminal 3 also has a Plaza Premium arrivals lounge in the baggage reclaim hall, from £36 per person. Fast Track Departures, Heathrow's own pre-booked security lane, costs from £12.99 per person for a one-hour arrival window between 06:00 and 21:00, infants and babies need a ticket too, and you can cancel up to 2 hours before your booked time. Only for short stops. Every Park & Ride car park is free for up to 29 minutes, which Heathrow offers as its free drop-off, with a free bus to the terminal; after that it is £9.40 up to 1 hour 59 minutes. At Terminal 4, Zone A of the Park & Ride car park is free for up to 2 hours. Blue Badge holders get the first 2 hours free in Park & Ride.

How much is it to drop off at Heathrow?

£7 every time a vehicle enters a terminal drop-off zone, 24 hours a day. There is no free period and no waiting: drive in a second time and you pay again. Pay online, by automated phone or with autopay by midnight the next day, or an £80 Parking Charge follows, reduced to £40 if paid within 14 days. Taxis pay too. Drop-off is free at the Park & Ride car parks.

How much is short stay parking at Heathrow?

Heathrow now calls its short stay car parks Terminal Parking. There is no Terminal Parking at Terminal 4 while its multi-storey is closed.

What has changed for parking at Terminal 4?

The Terminal 4 multi-storey closed on 23 June 2026 for redevelopment, so Terminal Parking and Meet & Greet are not available there. All passenger parking has moved to Zone A of the Terminal 4 Park & Ride car park, which is free for up to 2 hours, with a free shuttle every 5 minutes. Pre-booked customers use Zones B to D. Drop-off at the terminal carries on as normal, at £7 a visit.

How do I get from Park & Ride to the terminal?

Free shuttle buses run every 15 minutes between 04:00 and 23:30. Heathrow gives the ride as 10 to 20 minutes to Terminals 2 and 3, 10 to 15 minutes to Terminal 4 and 7 to 10 minutes to Terminal 5. Between 23:30 and 04:00, call 020 8745 6261 to ask for a transfer.

Where can I pick someone up at Heathrow?

Not in the terminal drop-off zones: pick-ups and waiting are banned there. At Terminals 2, 3 and 5, use Terminal Parking, at £8 for up to 29 minutes, or wait free for 29 minutes in Park & Ride. At Terminal 4, Zone A of Park & Ride is free for 2 hours, or Priority Pick-Up outside the terminal costs £7 for up to 10 minutes.

Is it cheaper to park or get dropped off at Heathrow?

A lift is cheaper. At Terminals 2, 3 and 5, being dropped at a terminal drop-off zone and collected from Terminal Parking within 29 minutes costs £15 (£14 at Terminal 4 using Priority Pick-Up within 10 minutes), or nothing if both stops are made in a Park & Ride car park within 29 minutes, but it means two return trips for your driver. A week in Park & Ride costs £271.20 if you turn up without booking.

Does Heathrow have meet and greet parking?

Yes, at Terminals 2, 3 and 5. With Meet & Greet you hand your keys over at a reception in the terminal's Terminal Parking car park; with Valet Parking, which is booked ahead only, you leave the car on the departures forecourt, with no drop-off charge to pay. Neither is available at Terminal 4 while its multi-storey is closed.

What are the height limits at Heathrow car parks?

Terminal Parking has a 2.20m limit at Terminals 2, 3 and 5. At Terminal 2, vehicles up to 3 metres can use the overheight area on the ground floor; at Terminal 3, vehicles up to 2.70 metres can park on the ground floor of Car Park 3; at Terminal 5, use the Fast Track / Overheight Vehicles entrance on the ground floor. Park & Ride has a 2.4 metre (8ft) limit at its exit barriers, Heathrow's FAQ says, and Pod Parking has no height restriction. Heathrow's Terminal Parking page also says vehicles over 2 metres high or 2.1 metres wide can park at Park & Ride Terminal 4, pressing the assistance button at the exit barrier, so check the limit for your vehicle before you go.

Do Blue Badge holders park free at Heathrow?

For 2 hours in the Park & Ride car parks, using the call points at the barriers; UK and EEA badges only. Blue Badge holders can also get a 100% discount on the £7 drop-off charge, in any vehicle that carries them, but must apply at least 7 days before their next visit. The discount doesn't apply at Terminal 4 Priority Pick-Up.

Can I cancel Heathrow parking, and can I charge an electric car?

Heathrow says you can cancel an official parking booking free up to two hours before your booked arrival time. It doesn't currently provide EV charging in any of its car parks, and there is no drop-off charge discount for electric vehicles.
