The short answer
If someone else is flying, dropping them off is the cheap option: £8.50 for up to 10 minutes. If you're flying, a lift there and back costs £17 in charges, or nothing at all if you use the Waiting Zone's free 60 minutes. Parking yourself costs more than that from the first day: Mid Stay is £50 for 24 hours and £250 for a week if you just turn up. Parking is the better call when nobody can do the two return trips, or when you'd rather have the car waiting when you land.
The drop-off charge was checked against Bristol Airport's own published charges on 26 Oct 2026, and the car park prices on 5 Oct 2026. Totals for longer stays are our sums from the airport's published day rates. Pre-booked prices change daily, so we link to them rather than quote them.

Car park figures are the lowest turn-up price for each stay among the car parks you can drive into without booking and get to the terminal from, worked out from the airport's day rates and checked on 5 Oct 2026. Silver Zone is left out: it has a turn-up price, but the guide explains why it doesn't suit a drive-up stay. The Bristol parking guide has every car park and its full price list.
If you're getting a lift
A lift costs £17 in charges. Dropped off and collected at the Drop Off & Pick Up car park (10 minutes each time). The Waiting Zone is free for up to 60 minutes, with a frequent bus to the Transport Interchange. It does mean two return trips to the airport for whoever drives you, which is the real cost of a lift. The Bristol drop-off guide has the exact rules.
Where you drop off at Bristol
The Drop Off & Pick Up car park is on the Transport Interchange, a 3–5-minute walk to the terminal across the covered bridge, with a 2.5m height limit (taller vehicles use the Minibus/Over Height car park). There is a dedicated drop-off point for Blue Badge holders in the car park: follow the signs for disabled parking.
If you'd rather park
Parking buys you independence: no one has to fit your flight times around their day, and the car is there when you land. The cheapest official option for a week at Bristol is Mid Stay, at £250 if you turn up without booking. Bristol Airport's own example of booking ahead is dated: 15 days in the Multi-Storey from 15 January 2026 cost £187 online against £650 at the gate, which it describes as a saving of up to 70%. Treat it as an illustration, not a current price.
Taxi fares depend on where you start, so we don't quote them. If you're weighing one up, the sum is two fares against the parking totals above.
Why the sums have shifted at Bristol
Bristol's drop-off charge has risen from £7 before 5 Jan 2026 to £8.50, up about 21%. Each rise makes a lift a little dearer, but at £17 it would take a much bigger rise for a lift to cost more in charges than even a day's parking. Every UK rise is tracked in the price index and the change log.
Don't forget the pick-up
The Drop Off & Pick Up car park takes quick collections as well as drop-offs, from £8.50 for 10 minutes. If you're early, the Waiting Zone gives up to an hour free, with a frequent bus to the Interchange (it's in a temporary spot from 19 October to 18 December 2026; toilets are at its usual site near the Car Rental Centre), and don't stop on the approach roads: Red Route rules carry a £100 enforcement charge, reduced to £60 within 14 days. See the UK pick-up charges guide for how other airports handle collections.
