If you're getting a lift
A lift costs £18 in charges. Dropped off and collected at the Drop Off Zone (12 minutes each time). The Long Stay Car Park is free for up to 2 hours, with a free shuttle bus to and from Bus Bay B at the terminal, which the airport says runs every 20 minutes, 24 hours a day, and takes about 10 minutes. It does mean two return trips to the airport for whoever drives you, which is the real cost of a lift. Where you drop off at Luton
Luton's Drop Off Zone is on the ground floor of Terminal Car Park 2, not outside the terminal doors: a signed area about a 5-minute walk away. Use postcode LU2 9QT, then follow the road signs (not your sat-nav) from the roundabout before the tunnel.

Luton Airport Parkway connects to the terminal by the Luton DART people mover in about four minutes, with the Luton Airport Express reaching London St Pancras in about 22 minutes. For some trips that takes the park-or-drop-off question off the table.

Unusually for a big UK airport, Luton's Drop Off Zone is signed for pick-ups as well — the same £9 for up to 12 minutes applies, and it has two entrances to spread the queues.
