How to pay the Luton drop-off charge, step by step
- Drop off as normal. There is no barrier and no ticket at Luton's drop-off zone — ANPR cameras record your registration on entry.
- Pay by midnight the following day. Go to lutondropoff.apcoa.com. You'll be asked for your vehicle registration so the system can match your visit, then pay.
- Keep the confirmation. Hold on to the payment reference or email until well after the deadline has passed, in case of a query or a notice sent in error.
- Regular user? Set up autopay. Luton lets you register an account and save a card for AutoPay: set it up before your visit, and check your account after each trip.

Paying online by card, step by step
- Go to the payment site, lutondropoff.apcoa.com, which APCOA runs for the airport, and choose Pay for Pick Up / Drop Off.
- Enter your registration and select the visit. If it isn't found, search by the date and time instead.
- Continue to payment. The amount depends on how long you were in the zone: £9 for up to 12 minutes, then £1 a minute.
- Do it by midnight the following day. There's nowhere to pay at the airport.

Drivers who stay longer pay a £95 enforcement charge, reduced to £55 if paid within 14 days, and the airport says the limit is strictly enforced with mobile CCTV. Its pages we could read don't say what happens if you simply miss the payment deadline, so treat midnight the following day as firm. We can't see, change or refund your payment.
Taxis, Uber and minibuses at Luton
The airport says your taxi driver is likely to add the drop-off charge to your fare, and the taxi company has until midnight the following day to pay it. Your taxi can drop you off free in the Long Stay car park instead. Uber tells its drivers that all drop-offs must be at the "Priority Drop-off Zone" and pick-ups at the "Priority Pick-up Zone", its names for the airport's zones, and that it won't pay a fine on their behalf.
Minibuses can use the zone: the dropping-off page says up to 19 seats, though the picking-up page says up to 9.
